Dr. Darren Herzog is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement. He has extensive experience in total joint arthroplasty and revisions, sports-related knee treatment, and fracture care.

His specialty focuses include operative and nonoperative treatments for knee and hip arthritis, primary total knee arthroplasty, unicondylar (partial) knee arthroplasty, total hip arthroplasty with specific expertise in direct anterior approach, complex revision of total knee and total hip arthroplasty, evaluation and management of painful or failed prosthetic hip and knee, and prosthetic joint infection management.

Dr. Herzog was born and raised in Montana before his medical training took him across the country, from med school in Hawaii at the UH John A. Burns School of Medicine, to his research internship at OHSU in Portland. He conducted his residency in Detroit Michigan at Detroit Medical Center and received his fellowship in Total Joint Arthroplasty from the University of California, San Francisco.

Now entering his 12th year of practice, he has worked in settings ranging from high-volume trauma centers to rural critical-access hospitals, each opportunity stretching his knowledge and honing his skills. He brings to NAH a diverse background, specialized clinical knowledge and surgical skills, and a passion to provide his patients with the highest level of orthopedic care.

When he is not relentlessly pursuing the perfect surgical outcome, he is hitting the trails on his mountain bike or spending time with his wife who and their two kids.
